RED RIBBON CLUB (RRC)
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a movement initiated by the Government of India to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS and to encourage young people to become agents of change in the fight against the disease.
Objectives
Awareness Generation
To create awareness among youth about HIV/AIDS, its causes, consequences, and prevention.
Behavior Change
To promote positive behavior change among youth to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Voluntary Blood Donation
To encourage youth to donate blood voluntarily to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply.
Stigma Reduction
To reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV).
Activities
Awareness Programs: Organizing awareness programs, rallies, and events to educate youth about HIV/AIDS.
Sensitization Sessions: Conducting sensitization sessions for youth to promote positive behavior change.
Blood Donation Camps: Organizing blood donation camps to encourage voluntary blood donation.
Support to PLHIV: Providing support and care to PLHIV and their families.
